Posted on 20 August 2010 by pinoytutorial
The iPhone may be the most popular smartphone ever released by Apple. It may have some discoloration as well reception issues with the iPhone 4 but somehow it has able to manage its good standing in the smartphone industry. But just recently there were ongoing rumors that Apple is set to unveil the next generation iPhone which is apparently called the iPhone 5.

As rumored, the iPhone 5 is going to address the issue on reception that most iPhone 4 users complained about. Aside from this, Apple has also been rumored to be on the process of developing a payment system that will make use of your iPhone to serve as some sort of a credit card in various stores and establishments – no need for additional phone attachment.
In fact, Apple hired the services of Benjamin Vigier, a known expert in the mobile payment industry. Benjamin Vigier has been known for using a technology called near field communication or NFC. Vigier is one of Apple’s Product Managers at present and basically he was assigned to handle Apple’s Mobile Commerce Division. Aside from Vigier, Apple has also hired the services of some phone engineers that are well-experienced in NFC and other similar mobile technologies.
With this actions being done by Apple, some believes that this only signifies that the next generation iPhone will be able to act as a payment method in stores just like certain phones in Japan which can be use for subway rides and vending machines.
According to some reliable source, Apple will be integrating this NFC technology using a hardware from NXP Semiconductor which is the market leader when it comes to NFC. These reliable sources also revealed that Apple has been making NFC-enabled iPhone prototype is also running some test related to mobile payments.
The iPhone 5 is anticipated to be released early next year and with the recent developments and researches being made by Apple, most likely the iPhone 5 will include the NFC technology. Apple is also planning to integrate NFC technology in its Apple TV and Mac books as well in order to transfer data between these devices at a high speed.

At this point it’s pretty obvious that Apple is preparing for this upcoming iPhone device, making sure that everything will be perfect. But the iPhone 5 is far way to go since it will still pass some more testing and pre-production stage before its final release.
Basically, the iPhone 5 will most likely offer something new with its mobile commerce as well as its short range wireless applications. This new technology combined with Apple’s hardware, software and platform strategy, will surely make the iPhone 5 to be a hit once it penetrates the market.

iPhone 5 in the rumor mill

It seems like only yesterday that the iPhone 4 was released, but how time flies when you're having fun. With the whole antennagate issue mostly behind us, most folks are just settling down to getting the best out of their shiny new iPhone. After all, its only been around four months since it was released.

So, with that in mind, it's hard to believe that talk of the next iPhone is already in circulation. Believe it or not, the rumor mill is once again churning out talk of Apple's next iteration of the iPhone - the enigma that is affectionately dubbed the iPhone 5.

TechRadar has compiled a roundup of some of the hottest rumored features that we may see in the iPhone 5. Here's a brief summary of what they report, but remember, it's only speculation.

Kicking us off, the iPhone 5 release is expected to be in June / July of 2011 because that's the time cycle that other iPhone releases have followed. However, iLounge has guessed that the next iPhone could be with us as early as January of next year (even they admit this is "hard to believe."). The reason for a January 2010 release of the next iPhone, simply put, would be to resolve, with new hardware, the now mostly blown over antennagate issue.

Next up, there's been talk of the iPhone 5 being equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, essentially turning the iPhone 5 into a digital wallet (allowing you to make credit / debit card like payments with the phone). Apple has released a patent demonstrating such technology, but this was some time ago, so it's unclear as to whether Apple is planning this for deployment in the iPhone 5.

Furthermore, the next iPhone is rumored to be evolutionary as apposed to revolutionary. Similar to the design shift from the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 5 will be akin to the iPhone 4, but a beefed up version. Rumored specs are of a faster processor (1.2GHz), more memory and larger storage, and a 3.7' screen (as apposed to the current 3.5' one on the iPhone 4). The iPhone 5 may also be made of a new material, perhaps some kind of alloy. Oh, and of course, a revamped antenna!

And, a big one here (note the sarcasm in my words), there's talk of the Verizon iPhone. TechRadar reports sources that have handled Verizon iPhone prototypes, though, according to Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg, that's not likely to happen. Verizon fans, let's hope you don't get let down again

Finally, TechRadar reports that at least one analyst believes the iPhone 5 will support LTE super fast mobile broadband (in the U.S. anyway), which will make the iPhone 5 a 4G phone.

Of course, this is all pure speculation and could amount to nothing more than a big whoosh of hot air. But then again, the next version of the iPhone is coming. Let the countdown begin.

iPhone 5: 20 most-wanted features

DesignedbyItem's concept design for a future iPhone.

I originally posted this column the day after the iPhone 4 launched, which is why you see a lot of comments dating back to June of last year. At the time, I apologized for talking about the next-generation iPhone within hours of the 4's release, but I knew that a lot of iPhone 3 and 3GS owners (like me) were planning on skipping the iPhone 4 and already looking ahead.
Now, six months later, we have a new iPhone 4 from Verizon. Except for some small design changes, including some tweaks to the antenna design, it really isn't all that different from the AT&T version. But with its official release, I thought it would be a good idea to update my list of iPhone 5 fantasy features to reflect the current iPhone landscape and incorporate the latest rumors.
The end result is a list of 20 items ordered from least to most important in a reverse countdown. I've also included what I think are the odds of Apple actually implementing each request. As always, feel free to agree or disagree with me and make your own suggestions (and to post your own ordered wish list). Perhaps Apple's listening.

Apple iPad Vs China iPed Apad: Which one is better?

We are pretty sure you have heard about the Apple iPad, but what about the iPed device that is taking China by storm at the moment? It is a iPad clone that is available to buy now, and at a significantly cheaper price than the iPad.
The iPed, or Apad as it is also known is available to buy over in Shenzhen, China and also on a few Chinese websites. The device is quite different in terms of specs to Apple’s iPad, but the design is exactly the same style as you’d expect with the iPad.
The biggest difference between the two, is that the iPed runs Android 1.5 OS, rather than Apple’s iPhone OS. As you should know by now though, Android is no lightweight and the device packs some handy specs.
It features a 7-inch touchscreen display with 800×430 resolution, a 600 MHz RockChip 2808A processor with 1GB of Memory, MicroSD support, 802.11b/g WiFi, HD video playback, 3.5mm jack and one-click access to YouTube. Since it is running Android, you’ll also get a collection of Google apps, such as the Chrome browser, Google Maps and Google Talk.
Best of all, this device is available to buy online for just $149 USD. If you compare that to the $499 asking price for the 16GB WiFi iPad, then you can see why everyone is so pumped up for the iPed clone.
Would you buy this over the iPad? You can’t beat the real thing, but then again – you can’t beat low prices like this too. Take a look at the full product page for the device here and then let us know your opinions of it.
